Multidimensional dissipative solitons and solitary vortices

This article offers a review of results for solitons in 2D and 3D models nonlinear dissipative media. The existence such requires to maintain two balances: between self-focusing linear diffraction and/or dispersion, loss gain. Due these conditions, (DSs) exist not families, but as isolated solutions. main issue is stability DSs, especially vortical ones. First, stable DSs are presented the framework complex Ginzburg-Landau equation with cubic-quintic (CQ) nonlinearity, which combines quintic cubic In addition fundamental (zero-vorticity) spiral too, vorticities 1 2. Stable were also found system linearly-coupled fields, gain acting one other. this case, (without terms) sufficient vortex DSs. truly localized states, weakly ones model without explicit gain, losses being compensated by influx power from infinity. Other classes considered here use spatially modulated or predict many species robust including featuring periodically recurring metamorphoses. produced trapping periodic potential. latter gap considered. Further, spin-orbit coupling give rise semi-vortices, vorticity carried component. Along solitons, includes stabilized CQ nonlinearity external potentials, collisions them.
